What is Climate Smart Wood?
Climate smart wood comes from forests that store additional carbon beyond those managed to conventional practices. It also comes from forest restoration projects designed to lower wildfire risk, reduce vulnerability to pests and pathogens, and increase forest diversity, resilience, and carbon storage.
The Climate Smart Wood Group is for anyone in design and build sectors who wants to change buildings from a large source of emissions into a carbon sink and a market force for forest restoration and responsible management.
